Introduction
Managing Successful Programmes® is unique in its status as a generic best practice framework; generic yet flexible in application. The Registered MSP Practitioner qualification is now established as the premier programme management qualification in many parts of the world. This course is based upon the third edition of Managing Successful Programmes.
The course will provide you with a full and complete understanding of the MSP programme management framework that can be applied to business scenarios in preparation for work on your own programme. By the end of this course you’ll be able to take the MSP Foundation and Practitioner examinations.
Following the standard syllabus issued by the MSP Examinations Board, it focuses on the MSP framework and how this might be applied pragmatically to a variety of real programmes.
This course is designed for practising programme managers, programme directors, programme office staff, change managers and auditors, who wish to gain formal recognition of their skills by taking the MSP Foundation and Practitioner examinations.

Content
The course will cover each part of the MSP Transformational Flow, Governance Themes and documents described in the MSP Guide.
You’ll work through various case studies during the course. You’ll also work with sample examination papers; examination tips and preparation, for the MSP Foundation and Practitioner examinations.

THE EXAM
Key features of the Practitioner exam from Monday 6th September 2010:
- 2.5 hour objective test
- Eight questions, each ten line itemslong, giving a maximum score of 80 marks
- Pass mark will remain at 50% (and the pass mark will, therefore, now be 40 out of 80).
MSP Practitioner Re-registration Exam extended to 1 hour 15 minutes
Reference the introduction of the one-mark model from 6th September 2010 the time allowed for the MSP Re-Registration Examination will be increased from one hour to one hour 15 minutes.
Key features of the Practitioner Re-Registration exam from Monday 6th September 2010:
- 1.25 hours
- Three questions, each ten line items long, giving a maximum score of 30 marks
- Pass mark will remain at 50% (and the pass mark will, therefore, now be 15 out of 30).
If a candidate became a Registered Practitioner prior to September 2007, re-registration at Advanced Practitioner should be considered. Where a candidate qualified at Intermediate level only prior to this date, re-registration at the Practitioner level will be appropriate.

The Practitioner exam can only be taken when a candidate has passed the foundation exam.
