Introduction to Microsoft Excel VBA

You will learn how to create and edit macros, and gain a good understanding of VBA code. The course is aimed at new users to VBA. No specific experience with VBA is required but delegates should be proficient in the use of Excel. Some programming experience would be helpful but is not essential.

Course Aim

To create and edit VBA code to automate elements of MS Excel.

Course Objectives
By the end of this level you will be able to:
  • Understand key components of a Visual Basic Module
  • Understand how to execute lines of code repetitively
  • Create relative and absolute recorded macros, and assign these macros to various objects
  • Create macros that interact with the user
  • Create custom functions
  • Analyze how code operates and locate the source of errors
  • Write procedures to test conditions, then run specific statements based on the results
