Introduction

Unlike coaching which is delivered predominantly by the line manager, Mentoring, a tool that is being used more and more in businesses today, is delivered by nominated Business Champions. These individuals have been selected from within the organisation for their knowledge, experiences and attitude towards people. Their task is to nurture and develop up and coming managers by discussing progress and future development.

This tool is used generally by organisations that have active graduate training programmes, fast track management programmes and/or robust succession planning processes. This one day event enables individuals to discover the difference between coaching, training and mentoring and help individuals develop skills and processes to allow them to better support those individuals that have been assigned to them. This is an extremely cost effective way of developing your future talent.
