Peter Rostern - Business Skills


Peter is a professionally qualified manager with over 28 years of HR and operational management experience embracing the hospitality and retail sectors. 

In 1989, Peter began studies for his Institute of Personnel and Development qualification. At the same time he commenced employment for Safeway as an in-store HR manager. Following successful completion of his studies in 1992, he quickly rose through the ranks becoming Area Training Officer and finally Area HR Manager in 1994. His achievements included the opening of 3 new stores in the South of England and Gibraltar, the reduction of absence and staff turnover to the lowest figure in the United Kingdom and the design and launch of numerous training packages.

Peter joined Alldays Stores Ltd. In 1996 and launched their newly created Management Development department. In his time at Alldays he held the position of Management Development Advisor, Regional HR and Training Manager, HR Manager Integration and Company Training and Development Manager. In his last role he managed a large training team and was responsible for the design and implementation of the company training strategy in support of the overall business recovery plan. Following the acquisition of the company by co-op retail in November 2002, Peter was given the responsibility of leading the training integration team and was assigned a further 20 trainers.

Leaving Alldays in 2003, Peter used his own strengths to become a management training consultant and formed A.R.T with a number of like minded colleagues. Peter specializes in ?People Management and Personal Development events such as Presentation skills, Motivation, Negotiation, Appraisals, Communication, Assertiveness, Customer Service, Leadership, Team Working, Time Management and Coaching skills? and has delivered a number of successful events both at senior management level and the shop floor.

Peter has a high level of business acumen and an understanding of the pressures inherent within a FMCG multi-site environment. He has extensive experience of developing and implementing leading-edge solutions to meet business strategies and change management initiatives in a commercial and customer driven environment.

Peter?s enthusiasm and energy is infectious, his drive to succeed in building a highly credible and successful training and development business is surpassed only by his passionate ambition to demonstrate that quality training and development does not have to cost the earth to be deemed effective.
