Introduction to this Word Course

This Microsoft Word course is the first in a series of Microsoft Office Word courses. Its aim it to provide you with the basic skills required to create and edit business documents in the most efficient way. Its also designed to improve your confidence when working with Word documents in a busy business environment. This course generally has an average of four delegates from local businesses. The course is informal but structured with breaks in the morning and afternoon and approximately 45 minutes for lunch. Lunch is provided at a local bistro where you can choose from a wide range of options.We’ll use the latest version Microsoft Word 2016 and discuss its relationship with Office 365 if relevant to course delegates.

Create a Basic Word Document (Getting the basics right)

The word environment – Get help using word – Enter text – Save a new document – Preview a document – Print a document

Edit a Word Document (Making changes quickly)

Navigate in a document – Insert text – Select text – Create an AutoText entry – Move and copy text – Delete blocks of text – Undo changes – Find and replace text

Format Text (Make your documents look professional)

Change font and size – Apply font styles and effects- Change text colour – Highlight text – copy formats – Clear formatting – Find and replace text – Formatting options

Format Paragraphs (Improve layout and appearance)

Change paragraph alignment – Indent paragraphs – Add borders and shading – Apply styles – Create lists – Change spacing between paragraphs and lines

Check and Correct Document errors (Simple but effective tools)

Use the thesaurus – Check spelling and grammar – Create a new default dictionary – Check word count – Modify a document in print preview

Add and Edit Tables (Control document content)

Create a table – Enter data in a table – AutoFormat a table – Convert text into a table

Insert Graphic Elements (Manage images in wordy documents)

Insert symbols and special characters – Insert a clip art picture – Add a watermark

Although a challenging subject, I found that the training was engaging because there was adequate time to not only listen but to also give examples and hear examples from other individuals from the class.     PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner course review

    I just wanted to write and say how much I enjoyed the PRINCE2 course last week. The whole Ipso-Facto experience was brilliant, from your prompt help in providing information to determine whether the course was going to be right for me and arranging for Tim to call me, through registration and the quality of the preparation materials sent out, to starting the course with Julia Gosse. Julia is a fantastic trainer who not only clearly has bags of experience in project and business management but is also a very highly skilled trainer. Whilst there was a huge amount to learn, she made it easy to absorb and tolerated enormous amounts of questions with patience and kindness.

    The venue was easy to get to and we definitely appreciated the surroundings including the lovely cafe for lunch and the lake. I will definitely recommend Ipso-Facto as a local training provider and will come to you first if you are running courses I am interested in for the future.

    Microsoft Excel level 2 course review

    The Excel Level 2 course was brilliant.
