    About Microsoft Excel Level 1 – Starter Introduction

    Microsoft Excel Starter Workshop

    This covers the widely used basic functions of Microsoft Excel at introduction level. Prior knowledge of Excel is not essential but is beneficial. The course is informal but structured and you will be encouraged to ask questions as the course develops. The training will be delivered using the latest version of Microsoft Excel on our computers. The lessons are structured using sample data that relates to your course handbook. Free training downloads are provided to all delegates on completion of the course. There will be a 15 minute break in the morning and afternoon, with 45 minutes for lunch.

    Is this course for you?

    This course is aimed at those who are new to Microsoft Excel or those who are finding it challenging to use Excel at work and have had no formal training. It is also for those who want to consolidate their understanding of Excel at this level, prior to progressing onto level 2.

    Simple formulas (Create useful formulas)

    Learn common mistakes – Use different techniques to create formulas – BODMAS – AutoSum – Insert Function – Formulas tab – Percentage calculations – Validate simple formulas – Referencing cells – Managing sheets.

    Formatting techniques (Simplify your data)

    Learn how to use a range of formatting techniques to create structure in your spreadsheet.

    Lists of business data (Input, edit and question your data)

    Interrogating and manipulating lists of business data are important skills. Learn how to input data using shortcuts, manipulate data, and quickly answer a range of questions relating to the data.
